Many independent cam models have their membership site on one domain for example www.DianaOnCam.com and their blog on some other domain for example DianaOnCam.thumblogger.com . Although it’s great that you have them both you should have them under one domain. In our example if your membership site is www.DianaOnCam.com the address of your blog should be www.DianaOnCam.com/blog. Here is why.
Most likely the reason you have your blog is to attract new members to your membership site. So somewhere in your blog’s articles you mention about your membership site hoping that reader will check it out, like a tour and become a member. And for some readers it is going to work. Most likely those who constantly read your blog posts are already the members of your membership site.
But not all visitors who come to your blog are regular readers of it. Many of them get through search engines like Google by typing some key words (for example massive firm boobs). Then they see your blog post in search results and get to your blog post page that contains these key words. If they found what they were looking for they become interested in a web site where they found this.
So let’s assume your blog is on free adult blog host like Thumblogger. So address of your blog would be something like DianaOnCam.thumblogger.com. If reader gets to your blog through search engine and becomes interested in your content the next thing he will do is checking out the home page. So, he will just remove the first part of the blog address which is in our example DianaOnCam and will get to the home page of Thumblogger which is not what you want. That’s how many people do these days. If on the other end you have your blog under your membership site domain (for example www.DianaOnCam.com/blog) visitor will get right to the home page of your membership site after removing /blog part.
This is only one example of how you can get additional visitors to your membership site. Another big advantage of having your blog and membership site under the same domain is increasing your ranking in search engines for the key words that are relevant to your online business. All posts that you write contain some key words that repeat over and over again. Next time when somebody searches for these keywords your site may come up on the first page of Google. This will bring tones of traffic to your membership site.

Every paying member pays $2-$3 per minute for the private show. You are getting 30-40% from this. Why webcam sites charge such a big commission. Because they are spending most of it to drive visitors’ traffic to their site. Of course they are not doing this themselves. They are paying to so called “affiliates” for bringing quality visitors to their site.
Here is how it works. Let say I’m web master who builds adult web sites. And you are working on SomeCamSite.com . So, to make money, I subscribe to SomeCamSite.com as an affiliate and receive unique affiliate code. Because I’m affiliate now SomeCamSite.com gives me away a lot of promotional material such as pictures and video of their models. I can use all of this to build a web site using these materials. On my site I put ads that are linked to SomeCamSite.com. These links contain my affiliate code e.g: SomeCamSite.com?affiliate_code=123234 . Every time visitor of my site clicks this link and gets to SomeCamSite.com 3 things can happen:
- Visitor looks around, may be has fun in free chat and then leaves like most do.
- Visitor gets into free chat, gets very excited and becomes the member. But ones he realizes that he has to pay he leaves too.
- Visitor becomes a member, buys credit and spends money in private shows
So, if case 3 happens, I as affiliate of SomeCamSite.com receive money from this site. There are two options that I can choose regarding receiving money. I can choose to receive fixed amount $40 to $120 once visitor who cames from my site spends money first time. Or I can receive 20% every time visitor that I sent once spends money on SomeCamSite.com.
So what it all means to you. You can subscribe as an affiliate on webcam site that you work on and using special link that contains your affiliate code attract new visitors. You can do it on forums, social networks, instant messenger, etc. And then receive either fixed amount or get 20% from what he spends in your or some other model’s room.
Warning: Make sure your web cam site doesn’t know that you have affiliate program. It’s against of Term of Services of most of the webcam sites. So, ask your friend to register an affiliate account. You can not use your name, i.e. the one that you used to register as web cam model.
If you decide to become independent webcam model sooner or later you’ll have to stat your own web site. In my previous post about blogs I explained that the easiest way to start your own website is to run a blog. But every blog needs to have its name, for example www.yourblogname.com
The first thing you need to know is that you DO need to have your own site name. These days you can use many services and social networks (like Facebook, MySpace, etc) to build short web site with your info, photo, etc. But in this case, you don’t have your own name. To access your page people will have to type in something like http://www.myspace.com/yourname . Everything that you publish there will belong to this website and not to you. So you need to have your own website name.
It’s very easy to purchase your site name and it will cost you around $10 per year. But first you need to come up with the actual name of your site and then you’ll need to check if it’s still available. You can’t even imagine how many web sites exist on the Internet and each of them have unique name.
There are many approaches in choosing web site name but all of them come down to two things:
- It should be short
- It should be easy to remember
For the independent web cam model the easiest way to follow this rule is to use name or nickname plus “oncam” suffix. For example if your name is Diana then you can try dianaoncam.com . In most cases such name will be available and you can buy it right away. If name is not available try to put letter “x” before “cam” so in our case it would be dianaonxcam.com (“x” is always associated with adult).
To check if web site name is available and to purchase it you should go to GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy is the most popular and reliable place to buy web site names. You need to do the search first to see if the name you picked is available and if it is you can purchase it. If you have any questions about the process of purchasing put it down in a comment to this post.
Happy site name buying!
Every web cam model has her presence in the Internet in one form or another. At minimum this would be your profile page at webcam site you are working on. From the other side really independent web cam models have their own web sites where they sell their shows directly to visitors. So where blogs feet in here?
Blogs are the simplest and the most popular types of web sites on the Internet. Every successful business has it and many people make business thorugh their blogs. Web cam model can take advantage from this type of web sites too.
At the very beginning the blog can be web cam model’s personal profile, far more advanced than the one she has on her web cam site. You can publish your recent photos, updates about your schedule, something interesting that happened during your show, etc. It is very important to have your blog linked to your profile page on webcam site. This way you can convert your blog’s readers to paying customers.
As soon as you start getting more and more visitors to your blog some of them will be interested in your webcam shows. This is how you’ll start getting additional members to your room on webcam site. And if you keep updating your blog regularly this number of members will grow.
With today’s technology it’s very easy to start your own blog. There are certain thing that you shouldn’t do like for example having your blog on free blogging service. In feature posts I’m going to show you how easy it is to start your own blog. But if you already have some questions feel free to ask through comments.
P.S.: If you are interested in having your own blog check out iCamModel eBook
You as web cam model do know that number of visitors to your room correlates directly with amount of money you earn. This is very important especially for beginner cam girls who don’t have funs who visit them on a regular basis. So, how to increase your visitors number?
Web cam site you are working on gets tons of visitors every day. Some of them come just to watch with no intention to spend money. But a small percentage comes with money. This small percentage has a lot of options since there are many models around to choose from.
Now there are two way to increase the number of visitors to your room:
Keep your profile fresh and interesting
This way you will stand out from other models that don’t care much about their profile. Member can learn more about you from what you’ve written and from your pictures which you should carefully select. So, this is the first thing you should do. Come up with outstanding profile and update it regularly.
Get Visitors directly from Search Engines and from other sites
Now what does it mean? Visitors who come to web cam site where you work are either regular visitors or random ones who just got there through other adult sites. Now imagine how many potential customers are browsing through adult sites every day. If for example you can get 100 of them to your room every day you’ll have a good chance that at least 3 or 4 of them will spend money in private show.
This figure shows the flow of visitor’s traffic:
There are certain techniques that will bring you tons of visitors outside of webcam site you are working on. These visitors will already be interested in you and you will have a better chance to get them to pay and convert them to your regular customers. In the following articles I will explore these techniques, so stay tuned. Any comments are welcome!
The first question that every beginner webcam model asks is what webcam site to start on. Some girls try as much as 8 sites before they find the one that brings them profit. The most appealing site for the beginners are Jasmin and Stream. You shouldn’t start with more than two sites because every site requires dedication.
For the novice webcam models free adult webcam sites (i.e. visitors are not required to register in order to chat with model live) are the best choice. Only there model can get good experience in a short period of time. Such sites as ImLive and Flirt4Free are dedicated to more professional models so starting on these sites is wasting of time.
Webcams.com and Streammate.com are also good choices for the beginners. They are free sites with less traffic but the traffic has more quality. By working on these two beginner model can learn how to work on more than one site effectively.
If you are not that active the best choice would be offline site. Offline sites are those that require membership in order to chat with model live. ImLive is the good choice. Just make sure that your profile is looking really good. And don’t expect much proffit at the beginning. It’s more suitable as hobby than as a job.
