Every beginner cam girl faces this question – which webcam model is the best? With huge selection of webcams in the market and with various opinions it’s really hard to decide. Another problem is the budget. Many beginner cam girls don’t have much money to spend on webcam. So what is the best balance between price and quality.

First of all don’t get crazy about buying expensive webcam (if you can afford it of course). You won’t really need all those fat features at the beginning. So save a buck for some other stuff you might need. The cheap webcam is not a solution either. If you have some old or “built in” webcam into your laptop don’t assume it would be enough for the beginning.

Another advantage of this webcam over other professional camcorders is that it looks like regular webcam. If you have some visitors at your house who unaware that you work as camgirl, they won’t suspect anything as opposite to if they see a more expensive camcorder on tripod in your room.

To be a successful web cam model you need to run your own site with regular members whose number grows every month. And these days it very easy to build your online cam modeling business. Here are 4 steps how to become successful cam model:

1. The first step is to get the experience. And the best way to get it is by working on web cam sites. I already wrote an article on the best site for beginner webcam model. Web cam sites like LiveJasmin and StreamRay have already visitors traffic who ready to pay for web cam shows. But because the competition is so big, it’s really hard to earn good money especially for beginner cam girl. But will be  getting the experience that you need to become successful
2. While you are getting experience you need to start your blog. This would actually be the start of your own site. It’s very easy to set up a blog these days and you don’t need any technical skills for this. Contact me if you need help with this.
3. Update your blog regularly with some teasing stories and pictures/video from your web cam shows. This will attract visitors traffic to your site. Once you start getting at least 50-100 unique visitors a day to your blog you can promote your shows on web cam site(s) you are working on.
4. As number of visitors to your blog grows you can build the members area where you can perform cam shows directly to your members bypassing web cam site(s) you were working on. This way you are not paying huge commissions to webcam site.

Yes, it will take a lot of effort to fulfill all these steps but this is the right direction to go these days in the Internet.

In my last post I pointed out how important it is to have text links to your site from other related cam girl sites. In this post I’m going to show how to find contact info of another site owner so you can negotiate exchanging the links.

The first obvious thing is to look for Contact section on another site. Many sites have it and I strongly encourage you to have one on your site. You never know who may want to contact you. Just look for the Contact menu. It should lead you to contact form:

But most of the sites don’t have contact form. In this case follow these simple steps to find email address of the site owner:

1. Go to http://www.who.is/
2. Type in the domain name of the site you are looking contact info for (e.g. cams.com):
3. After you click “Who.is Search” button, on the next screen look for “Administrative Contact” section. It should be close to the bottom of the page:

That’s all you need to do. You’ve got an email address of site owner you are interested in. Now write an email asking if the site owner would be interested in exchanging links with you. Don’t forget to include the address of your site. And don’t get upset if nobody answers you. Just keep looking for similar sites like yours. Most of them are run by the same cam models as you, so they will be willing to exchange links with you. And don’t forget, you are looking for text links.

Most likely the reason you have your own cam site is to make money. And to make money you need a steady traffic of visitors to your site. These visitors could come from anywhere on the web but in most cases they come from search engines like Google. To be on the first page of Google you need to have links on other sites pointing to your site. The more you have the better chances are.

When you type some search term in Google you get back thousands or sometimes millions of search results. But only ten of them are located on the first page. If your site managed to get to this first page, you are the winner! Only 1% of visitors will look at the 2nd, 3rd, etc pages. So how to get to the 1st page?

Let’s look at some real example. A guy types “strippers live chat” (without quotes) and gets 890,000 search results. Only ten of them on the home page. In order for you to get on the first page for this search phrase you need to have the text “strippers live chat” some where on your site, preferably both in a title of page and in the middle. But every site out of 890,000 has this text. This is why you need links to your site from other relative sites. They help you to stand out of 890,000 sites.

To have a quality back link you you need to make sure that:

1. This is text link not an image (i.e. you can highlight it with mouse cursor)
2. This text link should exactly match the phrase that you want your visitors to use to find you
3. The site where this link is should be relevant to your site

You should constantly be looking for other sites, get in touch with their owners and negotiote placing of text link to your site. In my next post I’ll explain how you can easily get email address of any site owner.

I’ve noticed that many cam girls that have their own sites make one big mistake. On the home page of their site there is very little info. In most cases it’s just their picture, adult content disclaimer and Enter/Exit buttons. Here are  some examples that I found:

If you really care about visitors who come from search engines you should put as much information about yourself as you can on the home page. Obviously it shouldn’t be adult content like pictures and videos. The most important thing is to put as much text as you can. Plus teaser pictures and videos.

Search engines like Google pay much attention to the home page of the site, especially to text, because people search in the Internet using the text. So, no matter how much text you have on other pages of your site, if you have very little on home page, search engines will not take your site seriously.

Here are examples of cam girl site that have pretty good home page that search engines like:

Look how much text it has. So if you go to Google now and search for “beautiful tattooed pussy” (put it in quotes) you’ll see this model’s site comes up. It should be clear that this model gets much more traffic from search engines than other models’ sites listed above.

Of course it’s not the only thing you should do for your site to get visitors from search engines (search engine traffic). But this is the very first thing you should do for your site.

First of all if you haven’t created Twitter account yet go for it. My previous article explains why you really need it. Once you have your Twitter account it should be your habbit to post every time you get on cam. This will bring “fresh” traffic to your webcam room.

This works the best for cam sites that allow free chat like www.CamZ.com . You just need to get the URL to your room when you are available for the free chat. This is an example of such URL:

So once you become available for free chat you can write something like this on Twitter:

“join me for my cam show that starts in 15 minutes: http://camz.privatecamz.com/z/index/free_chat/name/TeenAddison/ “

It will take you just a couple of seconds to do that. Don’t worry about such a long URL that makes your message beyond 140 letter limit. If you are using Twitter client such as TweetDeck it provides you with the way to shorten your URL. Otherwise you can use free URL shortener service like TinyUrl where you copy your link and it provides you with the short version of it. So your message will become:

“join me for my cam show that starts in 15 minutes: http://tinyurl.com/ad9n29“

Once you post such a message all your followers will immediately get it. And by clicking on the URL they will get right into your free chat room where they can see you real live.

But that’s not all. Because Twitter is so popular and has it own search, some “hungry” guy can search for “cam show” and your message will appear in search results. And again, he clicks the URL in your message and see you live. This way he most likely become your follower on Twitter and if you really seduce him he may buy a private show!

I just showed you the simple way to attract more visitors to your free chat room. These visitors will more likely spend money on your private show than those who are regular visitors of cam site you are working on.

If you don’t know what Twitter is, it’s a social network which is growing in popularity real crazy! It has a couple of millions members already and this number grows every day. Every web cam model should leverage Twitter to get more “fresh” visitors to her site.

Here is how Twitter can work for you. First you need to create an account. Then three things you should do:

1. Put your picture in profile. Note that your picture will look really small to other members so you should use the picture of your face preferably
2. Put the address of your blog or site in profile. If you don’t have your own site yet it’s not a problem. You can put the address of your profile page on web cam site you are working on. If you want to increase your profit by 20% or so you should use an affiliate code in profile address as I described in this article
3. Put short info about yourself mentioning that you are web cam girl

Then just start posting your updates. One of the key differences between Twitter and other social networks is that the length of update can not be more than 140 letters. This is very cool feature because it’s not taking long to write an update and it’s not taking long to read it. Also many people are using cell phones to read/write twitter updates. That’s why Twitter is so popular.

So you can post 4-5 updates a day, it won’t take long. Just write what you are doing at the moment. Try to use words that would attract “hungry” guys who use Twitter. For example you could write that you are about to start live sex show. And from the other end a guy makes a search for the phrase “live sex”. This is how he finds you. He reads your profile, gets interested and decide to follow you in Twitter. The following on Twitter means that every time you post an update (< 140 letters) you followers are going to see it. So next time you write about your show he’ll know about this.

The goal is to get as many followers as you can. Some webcam models that I know on Twitter have 3-4 thousand followers. Every time they post something 3-4 thousand people see it right away! It will take time to build this many followers but once you’ve got there you would become a super star!
